Apple Pie

 



Ingredients
  • 2 1/2 cups (315g) all-purpose flour

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1 cup (230g) unsalted butter (cold, cubed)

  • 6-8 tbsp ice water

  • 6 cups (700g) peeled and sliced apples (Granny Smith preferred)

  • 3/4 cup (150g) granulated sugar

  • 1/4 cup (30g) brown sugar

  • 2 tsp cinnamon

  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg

  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour

  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

Instructions
  1. For the crust, mix flour and salt. Cut in butter until crumbly. Add ice water until dough forms. Chill for 1 hour.

  2. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

  3. Toss apples with sugars, spices, flour, and lemon juice.

  4. Roll out dough, line a pie dish, and fill with apple mixture.

  5. Cover with top crust, seal edges, and cut vents.

  6. Bake for 50-60 minutes until golden brown.

  7. Cool before serving.
